Haley & Rob| A Beautiful Back Yard Wedding in Romney Indiana

I met Haley over a year ago now. She invited me to her sweet farm house in rural Romney Indiana. She was beamed with ideas and dreams for her back yard wedding. I was floored with the idea of having your wedding at the same place you live and someday raise your family. I MEAN HOW PERFECT IS THAT!! I was so excited when she booked me and that meant I got to document this special moment in their life.

The Engagement session

First we had our engagement session. First session was rained out.. the second one it was GUESS what.. raining.. but we rocked it! You can see their Purdue Memorial Union Engagement session right here.

The Wedding

That brings us to 06/17/17. The weather ALL week said 80% change of rain on that day. Needless to day Haley and I were praying it would change. Then by Friday it went down to 20% chance after 10pm! Hallelujah!! The officiant for the ceremony was the brides Aunt Kelly she did a great job and made the ceremony flow flawlessly Haley and Rob did not have a first look so it made the ceremony first look moment absolutely perfect. The Dj United Sounds kept the music and the dance floor jumping. The photo booth was also provided by United Sounds was a fun touch for the guests. The dinner was absolutely delicious Haley and Rob were so fortunate to have all the food prepared by their family and friends.

Oh Gatsby was so excited to see his Mommy and Daddy get married but I KNOW he was even more excited for the wedding to be over and guests to leave. ❤ It tried to steal the show.. but he stole a lot of hearts.

Haley’s Aunt Kelly was the Officiant for their big day which made the ceremony extra special.

Haley & Rob did a salt ceremony instead of a sand or unity candle. It was so unique. You can read more about this here.

All of the Bridesmaids and Groomsmen gave a speech it was so nice to hear all their stories about the Bride and groom.

 

Then sunset photos were of course… magic ❤

Then we ended out night with a first shot as husband and wife. ❤

Thank you Haley and Rob for allowing me to be a part of your special day. I just LOVED all of your family and friends you two are extremely blessed. I cannot wait to watch you both thrive in this next chapter of life.

A Frankfort Indiana engagement session | Sara & Noah

Last week I had the honor of meeting up with a 2017 Bride and Groom. Our session was so much fun. We walked around some of my favorite locations in my home town of Frankfort. First we stared downtown I am a huge fan of all the textures you get just when you shoot downtown. Then we ended the session at the bridge on the golf course . Sara & Noah made my job super easy.

A Courtyard by Marriott Lafayette Indiana Wedding | Melissa & Jorge | 05/26/2017

The Engagement session

Melissa and Jorge’s engagement session was at one of my favorite places on earth. (NO not Disney)- but at Dull’s Christmas Tree farm. I was so excited when they OKed that location because it is just a beautiful and magical place. Here are some of my favorite photos from our engagement session.

The Ceremony

Time is flying. I feel like it was just yesterday I met up with them and shot their engagement session. The wedding was at the Courtyard by Marriott in lafayette and it was the perfect location for Melissa and Jorge’s elegant spring wedding. Wedding day was so great the rain held off all day. the clouds rolled in after all the photos were finished and it was party time. Melissa and Jorge did do a first look. So we had all of their photos finished before the ceremony which was so nice. After the ceremony Jorge and Melissa had a delicious and fun cocktail hour. The jalapeño poppers and cheese sticks were outstanding.

The Reception

The plated dinner by the Courtyard by Marriott was absolutely delicious and their cake from Mammaw’s sweet shop was perfection as always. The evening was so fun David Shuck was the dj from Audio Inferno  , he kept the dace floor hopping and he added some fun games to the evening. Melissa and Jorge also had a Photo Booth also from Audio Inferno for their guests which was a fun time as well.

*This^^ made my heart so happy! They will enjoy having ZERO smart phones in their entire wedding day photos (even reception) their group of family and friends were amazing and honored the Bride and Grooms wishes and were all present for their day. *

Winamac Indiana Engagement Session | Brianna & Alan

This past Sunday I had the honor of driving to Brianna’s Mothers home right outside Winamac Indiana for Brianna and Alan’s engagement session! I am so glad she chose this location it was a GEM. So many beautiful spots and options for photos and I could tell it was the perfect fit for my bride to be and Groom. I met Bri and Alan al most a year ago at one of my 2016 weddings! I am so thankful for all the connections I make *every* wedding.

They had the ultimate prop too 🙂 their pup Zeke! He was perfect, even if he photo bombed an image or two. 😛

A Spring Wedding at The Willows Indianapolis Indiana | Neil & Andrea | 05-20-17

The Wedding day

I met Neil and Andrea almost a year ago at one of my 2016 weddings. I was so so so excited when they asked me to be apart of their special day. May 20th, 2017 was a typical spring day in the midwest. The night before the wedding it was a monsoon of rain. The sky just would not stop raining. I had a feeling that the rain would changed Neil and Andrea’s big day plans slightly. Then the morning of the wedding was overcast and chilly. By the time it was picture time the clouds had parted it was warming up and it was humid! None of this really mattered my beautiful bride and handsome groom where saying I do and one of the prettiest venues The Willows on Westfield. We knew for sure even if the ceremony had to be inside due to the saturated ground we wanted out-door photos. I did a search beforehand and found the perfect spot not far from the main building.

The Ceremony

We were so thankful for The Willows on Westfield staff and employees they were so great moving the outdoor planned wedding inside, they did a wonderful job! The ceremony was sweet and performed by the brides brother which made it extra special.  Neil and Andrea had family and friends travel from all over to be apart of this special day.

The Reception

The Banquet hall at The Willows on Westfield was simply stunning from the white linens to the touch of greens on the chairs and the super neat ceiling lights. The Dj Jeremy from Dj Direct kept the night running super smoothly and the dance floor was hopping all night!

A few years ago Neil’s mother passed away suddenly. She may have not been there in person but she was certainly there in spirit. ❤

Beautiful cake by Taylor’s Bakery

The cake topper was from Andrea’s grandparents wedding who got married in 1951. They were married for 57 years. Andrea’s Grandma passed away in 2009. After Andrea’s grandpa passed away last year, we discovered the cake topper and brought it back for Andrea’s brother Eric’s wedding last September and then again for their wedding.

A Wea Creek Orchard Lafayette Indiana | Engagement session | Ashley & Devon | 05-15-17

Monday I had the honor of walking around Wea Creek Orchard with my August bride and her Groom. I loved this engagement session because it was at the same location as Ashley & Devon’s special day. We talked about tons of things, how they met and their vision on the big day. This session made me SO excited for their big day!

A Spring Wedding at Ross Camp West Lafayette Indiana | Becky and Daniel | 05-13-2017

The Engagement Session

Daniel and Becky’s engagement session was last fall located at Adams Mill. Here are some of my favorites from their session.

 

The Ceremony

Becky and Daniel’s big day couldn’t of been more perfect. The weather was ideal mid 70’s low 80’s. not a cloud in the sky. The location was the beautiful Ross Camp in West Lafayette. The ceremony took place in the A frame lodge. Ross Camp had tons of gorgeous spots on the property. After the ceremony friends and family were invited to have appetizers and play lawn games from Midwest Rentals while we finished up photos.

 

The Reception

Becky and Daniel had their reception in the big hall also on the property. It was so beautifully decorated with gray and pops of coral. ❤ Dj Mike Bennett from Efusion kept the night on schedule and the dance floor busy. I LOVED the wedding cake! It was made by none other than THE BRIDE. Becky has made a couple wedding cakes for past brides, I was so excited to have her cake again on her big day!

Becky and Daniel did not to a first look. BUT she did with her father ❤ It was a sweet sweet moment.

We took about 10 minutes of photos directly after the ceremony. It was so bright so we opted to come out at sunset and BOY I am happy we did. 🙂 those will be later in the blog.

An Immanuel United Church Of Christ Wedding | Ruth and Fred | 04-22-17

Their story

This wedding was so so special to me. (I know I say this EVERY TIME) But this time it was the most special. WHY ? Well the bride was my Grandmother. 🙂 It has been so fun to see first hand Fred and Grandma’s relationship grow. Between the two they have over 100 years of marriage under their belts. Grandma was married to my Grandpa for 56 years and Fred was married to his late wife for 60 years. Fred and Ruth were members of the same church long ago. Their paths crossed again at a Purdue University choir performance. Both were lonely and started meeting for dinner dates. It did not take long for them to know they wanted get married.

The Ceremony

The wedding day went flawlessly. The ceremony was held at Grandma and Fred’s church Immanuel United Church of Christ. This church is rooted in our family so it was special to see Grandma and Fred say I Do here. The service was also rooted in family my Aunt was the Officiant, my cousins all had different jobs (singing, ushering, and candle lighting.) and both bride and groom were escorted by their daughters which made the day extra special. Fred and Grandma did a first look and it was so sweet  Grandma looked stunning of course in her *red* dress, and Fred cleans up quite nice too in his navy suit. 🙂 The flowers were perfect! A big thank you to Heather’s Flowers!

The Reception

The Reception was held at The University Place in West Lafayette and we enjoyed yummy horsd’oeuvre and great conversations. Many family and friends made the trek to this wedding from Florida, Illinois, Ohio and Minnesota. So it was nice to catch up and chat with all of them. Last but not least the cake was delicious, a family friend of the bride made it.

Wea Creek Orchard Lafayette Indiana | Surprise Proposal | Kyle and Taylor

Sunday I had the honor of capturing one of the BIGEST moments in Taylor’s life. The moment her boyfriend of many years asked her to take his hand and be his wife forever. About two weeks ago I was contacted by Michelle (Kyle’s Mom) inquiring for her son. I loved their story and I am a sucker for proposals. Then soon after I was in touch with Kyle we chatted about where would be the perfect location. Then how to make it happen and how to get her WHOLE family and friends there without her knowing. I had two perfect locations but once stood out more than the other and that was Wea Creek Orchard. The trees just started blooming and they are just gorgeous. Once we locked down a spot we talked logistics.. and when Kyle said Taylor had a big family he was not kidding. ((We had about 8 car loads or more of family and friends arrive about 10 minutes after we started.))
So we stared with just a photo session with his family. Then everyone was arriving and walking up the hill toward us. That is when Taylor realized what was about to happen. Kyle’s Smile lit up the whole place. He was about to ask his girl to be his forever. (( oh man I am a sucker for this sort of thing))

After that special moment we took family and group photos and then some of the happy couple. ❤
