Winamac Indiana Engagement Session | Brianna & Alan

This past Sunday I had the honor of driving to Brianna’s Mothers home right outside Winamac Indiana for Brianna and Alan’s engagement session! I am so glad she chose this location it was a GEM. So many beautiful spots and options for photos and I could tell it was the perfect fit for my bride to be and Groom. I met Bri and Alan al most a year ago at one of my 2016 weddings! I am so thankful for all the connections I make *every* wedding.

They had the ultimate prop too 🙂 their pup Zeke! He was perfect, even if he photo bombed an image or two. 😛

A Spring Wedding at The Willows Indianapolis Indiana | Neil & Andrea | 05-20-17

The Wedding day

I met Neil and Andrea almost a year ago at one of my 2016 weddings. I was so so so excited when they asked me to be apart of their special day. May 20th, 2017 was a typical spring day in the midwest. The night before the wedding it was a monsoon of rain. The sky just would not stop raining. I had a feeling that the rain would changed Neil and Andrea’s big day plans slightly. Then the morning of the wedding was overcast and chilly. By the time it was picture time the clouds had parted it was warming up and it was humid! None of this really mattered my beautiful bride and handsome groom where saying I do and one of the prettiest venues The Willows on Westfield. We knew for sure even if the ceremony had to be inside due to the saturated ground we wanted out-door photos. I did a search beforehand and found the perfect spot not far from the main building.

The Ceremony

We were so thankful for The Willows on Westfield staff and employees they were so great moving the outdoor planned wedding inside, they did a wonderful job! The ceremony was sweet and performed by the brides brother which made it extra special.  Neil and Andrea had family and friends travel from all over to be apart of this special day.

The Reception

The Banquet hall at The Willows on Westfield was simply stunning from the white linens to the touch of greens on the chairs and the super neat ceiling lights. The Dj Jeremy from Dj Direct kept the night running super smoothly and the dance floor was hopping all night!

A few years ago Neil’s mother passed away suddenly. She may have not been there in person but she was certainly there in spirit. ❤

The cake topper was from Andrea’s grandparents wedding who got married in 1951. They were married for 57 years. Andrea’s Grandma passed away in 2009. After Andrea’s grandpa passed away last year, we discovered the cake topper and brought it back for Andrea’s brother Eric’s wedding last September and then again for their wedding.

Thank you so much Neil and Andrea for allowing me to be apart of your special day. I can’t wait to see what is next in this chapter of you story.

Wea Creek Orchard Lafayette Indiana | Surprise Proposal | Kyle and Taylor

Sunday I had the honor of capturing one of the BIGEST moments in Taylor’s life. The moment her boyfriend of many years asked her to take his hand and be his wife forever. About two weeks ago I was contacted by Michelle (Kyle’s Mom) inquiring for her son. I loved their story and I am a sucker for proposals. Then soon after I was in touch with Kyle we chatted about where would be the perfect location. Then how to make it happen and how to get her WHOLE family and friends there without her knowing. I had two perfect locations but once stood out more than the other and that was Wea Creek Orchard. The trees just started blooming and they are just gorgeous. Once we locked down a spot we talked logistics.. and when Kyle said Taylor had a big family he was not kidding. ((We had about 8 car loads or more of family and friends arrive about 10 minutes after we started.))
So we stared with just a photo session with his family. Then everyone was arriving and walking up the hill toward us. That is when Taylor realized what was about to happen. Kyle’s Smile lit up the whole place. He was about to ask his girl to be his forever. (( oh man I am a sucker for this sort of thing))

After that special moment we took family and group photos and then some of the happy couple. ❤

Fountain Square Indianapolis | Engagement Session | Adam & Ernie

I had such a great time on my session with Adam and Ernie. They are one of my Bridal show couples and those bridal show couples are *always* some of my favorites. Adam contacted me and said they wanted a more urban session feel but didn’t want in our local town I knew right away the perfect location. Fountain Square is such a cool place it has so so so much character and is a melting pot of all cultures. Their session was a blast and I am so excited for their wedding in October!

A Wedding Venue blog – Crooked Road Barn – Flora Indiana – Ashley Renee Photography

Next venue up on the blog is a favorite of mine Crooked Road Barn. I shot there this past summer and it was perfect! I loved the barn tucked away on a county road with lots of farm land surrounding it. I also love the owners I met Brooke and Jeff Schuler a couple years ago at my first bridal show! We have booths close to one another and it has been nice getting to know them and chat at the show and at events! — enjoy!

Three years ago my sister asked if she could have her wedding in our barn and after a lot of hard work all of our family was proud of how far it had come but were still unsure of what other people would think since we had never been to a barn wedding! All of the guests had a great time and thought the barn looked great. By the next week we had people asking if we would rent it for their wedding or special occasion and we have been so blessed that it just took off from there!

I would suggest a year in advance as we tend to book quickly for the fall. If it is a summer date you may be able to book later but it just really depends on the interest of that year!

We offer a couple of packages for our brides and grooms. The first is the rental of the barn and outdoor ceremony space and the use of our trash cans with liners provided the second package is all of the above with the addition of two portable restrooms (as we do not have plumbed restrooms at this time) and enough tables and chairs for 200 guests.  One thing people probably wonder is why we named it Crooked Road Barn, but we chose that name because the road the barn is on (200 N) is called the Crooked Road by those who live in the area. We have lots of exciting things planned for our future. Most of it consists of making the barn look more elegant! We would like to add a large chandelier, we will be adding 2 bathrooms in the near future and we would like to take the barn back to its original wood!  We can comfortably accommodate around 300 seated guests.

Crooked Road Barn is unique because it is a small family business that is here to help make the barn wedding dream a reality to our customers! We strive to stay affordable but to continue to improve on the barn each year as well. We value each and every customer and try to be as easy to work with as possible.

The Lighthouse Lodge B&B on lake shafer | Victoria & Gary| 09-24-16

The Ceremony & Reception

Saturday I had the honor of photographing the sweetest wedding. Victoria & Gary invited their closes friends and family to their intimate wedding on the lake. It truly felt like a destination wedding with the lodge almost surrounded by lake shafer. Their family traveled from afar to be here for this special special day. The Lighthouse lodge B&B was the perfect venue the scenery was perfect, and the homemade cooking was top notch. Not to mention amazing owners and staff.  It truly never gets old capturing all my couples and the love they share.

We went out at sunset and did our Bride and Groom Portraits I am so glad we did the day couldn’t of been more perfect. After some dancing we cut inside the lodge to cut the delicious pumpkin pie ❤ SO yummy!

Adams Mill Cutler Indiana | Lauren & Justin| Engaged

Last week I had the pleasure of meeting up with Lauren and Justin for their Engagement session. It was so much fun we met up at Adams Mill in Culter. It was the perfect location for this session with my #ashleyreneebride and her soon to be groom and their larger than life prop Stella their Jeep! The Barn Wedding Venue Lafayette Indiana | Whitney & Shawn | 09/17/16

The Engagement-

As most of you that follow me know of this sweet couple. Almost a year ago to the day I Shot tShawn and Whitney’s proposal. It is one of my favorite moments I have captured yet. The blog can be found here if you would like to read about it. Here are a few of my *favorite* shots from their proposal.

 

The Ceremony

Whitney and Shawn’s day was so perfect. It was a normal Indiana end of summer day raining all morning up until 12:30pm. After that the clouds parted and we had picture perfect weather. The ceremony took place at Grace United Methodist Church church in Lafayette Indiana. What a beautiful church. The pastor there has known Whitney for about 20 years so it was extra special that she married them. In front of 200 of their close family and friends they said I do forever.

 

The Reception

After the ceremony we all headed to The Barn right out side of Romney Indiana. This little slice of farm heaven is a newer venue in Tippecanoe County. *Oh man it made my farm loving heart go pitter pat. * The food was phenomenal, Of course any food Shoups caters is always top notch. After dinner we did the cake and dances then right before sunset we snuck out to finish our Bride and Groom Portrait session. Oh man I am glad we did. The property is so is so beautiful it made for the perfect backdrop for Whitney and Shawn’s big day.
Once we finished Dj Large (Large Sound) kept the dance floor packed he never disappoints!! Here are some of my favorites from Whitney and Shawn’s special day.

I loved that they exchanged gifts before. Shawn ordered the sweetest sign for his bride and Whitney had a whole bag of goodies for her groom. In the bag ALSO was a photo book of their story. That was SO cool! OH and the apple rings were a HIT!

Before the ceremony Shawn and Whitney shared a moment of prayer. This is one of my favorite traditions for Brides and Grooms that decide not to have a first look.

 

 

Gosh I LOVED all the fall details ❤

After the dancing was finished we snuck away for 20 min for some sunset pictures and man I am so glad we did! Here are some of my favorites from our Bride and Groom time. ❤

 

What a fun night! The Bride’s Brother Robbie stole the show at the reception!

Crooked Road Barn Venue Wedding | Andy & Sarah | 09-03-16

Words really couldn’t describe how perfect this wedding day was! No rain.. NO humidity! high of 78! AMAZING! Thank you mother nature! Sarah and Andy had the most perfect location at the Crooked Road Barn. This was my first time here and I was so impressed with the location, character and the workers were amazing so helpful to make this day beyond perfect for my bride and groom. Here are some of my favorites from Andy & Sarah’s BIG day ❤

Puffy white clouds adorned the most beautiful blue sky all day Saturday. If you think the outside is stunning wait til you see the inside!

Andy & Sarah chose to *not* have the first look which I am OK with either way! I just budget enough time for photos before hand.. I always allot just enough or a little more because you never know if something happens and we could run out of time.

Andy and Sarah’s ceremony was preformed by Andy’s cousins so it absolutely made this moment extra special.

 

After the ceremony we did some Bride and Groom shots but we also went out at sunset and finished my bride and grooms photos. ❤

Ashley Renee Photography| Campfire mini sessions 2016

First of all i want to say THANK YOU to all my wonderful families who participated in my Campfire mini sessions this past weekend! It was *so* how and at times miserable but it was so fun to see each one of you! I had A LOT of people sad they missed out on these. I do have a client group.. Book one session with me and your automatically IN! This group is where I post my Mini session spots FIRST! ❤ They BOOK UP SO FAST! I love treating my clients to “first dibs” . I also brain storm with them on ideas for Mini session the following year! I ONLY do mini’s 3 times a year usually.

I loved everything about this session AS most of you know I LOOOOOVE camping.. I love Antiques and I LOVEEEEE Twinkle lights. ❤ This will absolutely be a setup i do again and again. ❤ ((Just NOT end of august))
